tory sport

Tory Burch is not a brand I’ve forever admired. But the Tory girl has grown up since the early 2000’s — a time when images of TB logo’d ballerina flats and Gossip Girl are what spring to mind. No, the Tory girl is sophisticated today . . . she’s confident and polished and I’ve found myself a fan. She’s also active. Since taking up body boarding this summer, I’ve hemmed and hawed over the selection of rash guards and wet suits. Roxy is often a good choice and offers sleek designs, but I was thinking about how nice it would be to have more options. Enter Tory Sport. A new line of activewear,…

away we go: road trip through spain

If it seems like I’m always off on some adventure, that’s probably because I am — after all, that’s what these six months are supposed to be. Although the goal has been to live in France for the duration, we’re also so close to other places on our bucket lists . . . like Gibraltar. Gibraltar has never made it onto my personal travel list, mainly because I had never heard of it before Andrew told me it. A UK territory at the foot of Spain? What? quaintrelle is two!

Cue the confetti: Quaintrelle is two! Time is a funny thing isn’t it? And oh, I can hardly believe that just two years ago, I began this adventure. As someone who grew up with the internet I’ve always had some sort of blog or website (ahem, Live Journal anyone?) but this time it was different. the scout / 32

It’s the last weekend of summer . . . how are you spending it? Biarritz has proved to be the perfect summer destination, and after almost two months of living here it is almost time for us to go back to Paris. Before we go, I’m excited to welcome my Mum to Biarritz this afternoon. She’s visiting us for a few days and I cannot wait to show her around town! From pinxtos at Les Halles and mojitos at Eden Café overlooking the sea to swimming at Rocher de la Vierge, we’ll revel in all kinds of summer to-do’s. In case you find yourself with some time in between your summer to-do’s, a list of lovely links…

one kings lane introduces: the studio

My latest obsession is, without a doubt, One Kings Lane. I subscribed to their newsletter over a year ago now but am only now recently finding myself on their website nearly each and every day — which is a bit funny considering they don’t ship to Canada (OKL, if you’re reading . . . we want you in Canada). As I transition more into the world of design (more on that later), I’m super intrigued by not only OKL’s offerings but the way in which they are growing their business. OKL has gone from a subscriber-only e-commerce site to a totally open home and lifestyle destination. And have your heard the latest news?…
