mad for blue

French blue, my signature hue. This beach-y California home, belonging to designer Rebecca de Ravenel, gives me heart palpitations . . . it perfectly captures my aesthetic. But it’s not all about looks: Rebecca is strict with the items that come into her home (a philosophy I share) — each piece must have personal meaning. To me, great interior design tells a story about the person who owns the space. Read the full story on Domino.com. To be honest, I simply just love blue! — Rebecca de Ravenel     Bon week-end,

lipstick that loves you back

I’m a total lipstick girl. I love the idea of a colourful lip and if my make-up bag is any indication, it’s a look I covet. The only problem? I find matte lipsticks to, no matter how pretty the look is, be rather high maintenance. The constant need to check if the colour has bled, the lack of moisture, and well . . . a matte lip isn’t exactly kissable. new year, new beginnings

Hello 2016! It’s been forever since I’ve posted anything (oops!) but I’m happy to be back. The holiday season didn’t whip by as it usually does and I found the time to move at a nice pace. Don’t get me wrong, we danced all…

nutcracker high tea

Toronto has some very special holiday traditions, one of them being The National Ballet of Canada‘s production of The Nutcracker. I attended a matinée with my Mum and it was absolutely what I needed to get me in the festive spirit (the warm temperatures and lack of snow have staged a challenge)! Earlier last week, I was invited to enjoy a little precursor to the performance: a Nutcracker themed tea at The Shangri-La Hotel (just a hop and a skip from the theatre). I brought my friend Kelly Lynn along to join me . . . we snagged the coveted fireside lounge table which was lovely. Inspired by the ballet, Executive Chef Damon…

the scout / 36

This week has been one of the most exciting weeks of the year, marked namely by the engagement of my very best friend. Since then, it’s been many coupes of champagne and impossibly beautiful flowers. If you would have told our five-year-old selves that we get to plan our weddings together, I would have never believed you. And so, 2016 will absolutely be the best year ever! We are heading to St. Marys to see Andrew’s family for the holidays, and I am really hoping they have some snow (it’s been unseasonably balm-y as of late). I hope you take some time to enjoy the festive season this weekend. Some lovely links for…
