Hello 2016! It’s been forever since I’ve posted anything (oops!) but I’m happy to be back. The holiday season didn’t whip by as it usually does and I found the time to move at a nice pace. Andrew and I brought our families together for Christmas dinner this year which was a new experience for everyone . . . happy to say everyone got along and the whole thing was really nice. We spent New Year’s Eve lakeside in a lovely Muskoka cottage we rented with our best friends. We rang in 2016 by the fire with champagne and oysters and I loved the quieter evening. Don’t get me wrong, we danced all…

This week has been one of the most exciting weeks of the year, marked namely by the engagement of my very best friend. Since then, it’s been many coupes of champagne and impossibly beautiful flowers. If you would have told our five-year-old selves that we get to plan our weddings together, I would have never believed you. And so, 2016 will absolutely be the best year ever! We are heading to St. Marys to see Andrew’s family for the holidays, and I am really hoping they have some snow (it’s been unseasonably balm-y as of late). I hope you take some time to enjoy the festive season this weekend. Some lovely links for…

Apologies for the silence around here – it’s been quite the week! As you may have read on Instagram, Andrew and I home safe and sound in Toronto. I snapped this photo on Friday, November 13, just hours before the attacks on Paris. We heard the horrific news as we landed, and couldn’t believe our luck. Like everyone, I’ve had a tricky time comprehending what happened – it’s impossible really. But as we must, we move on and keep looking forward in life. We are settling back in Toronto and can’t wait to get into our new home on December 1. Until then, we are continuing our nomadic lifestyle (gosh, I’ve gotten good…

It’s our last night in Paris. By all mathematical standards, this would mean that six months have passed since we traded all stability – as we knew it – in Toronto for a new home in Paris. Many unknowns, many challenges, many solutions, and many new realizations later . . .  I’m still here, I’m still me, but I am better. Throughout the adventure I’ve chronicled my adventures for (beautifully re-designed) Glitter Guide: the where, the how, and now and in the nick of time I’m sharing the why. The things in invaluable lessons I learned along the way . . . We have 360 hours left in Paris, 360 hours that will…

Autumn is always my favourite time of year . . . but it’s a notion I firmly and repeatedly reject, year after year, while I’m too busy held under summer’s warm and sunny spell. I’m smitten by the freckles it leaves on my nose and shoulders, and romanced by beach days and glasses of rosé. But time and time again, like clockwork, September draws to a close and autumn greets us with its cooler temps and changing leaves — suddenly the summer and I are fair-weather friends. October creeps its way up and there I am, gushing about how lovely the cooler temperatures are . . . how I can’t wait to sit…
